March 4, 2018 Luncheon
Our monthly luncheon took place on Sunday, March 4, 2018. It was attended by 85 members, who heard our main speaker Lyle Bultman giving us a detailed account of the present situation in both, South Korea and North Korea. A very timely and interesting subject.
We also heard from our guest Jim Foster, who is making plans for a lengthy journey next year, which would retrace the first ever circumnavigation, achieved by Ferdinand Magellan in 1519-1523. Next year will be the 500th anniversary of this enormous accomplishment.
February 11, 2018 Luncheon
The Naples Chapter met on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club for the monthly luncheon and speaker presentation.
Our member Thomas Gregory gave a fascinating showing of a region little known to most tourists. We followed Tom on his adventure filled journey by boat, along the “Turquoise Coast” of Turkey. Tom fascinated us with his many pictures of ancient Greek and Roman Ruins, and his narratives of Greek mythology and legends. It was a most fascinating afternoon enjoyed by the 100 members who attended.

The first meeting of the New Year, for the Naples Chapter, was held on January 14, 2018, at the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club. One hundred sixteen members and guests attended to hear the interesting presentation of our speaker, and member Erik Meyer, who has completed more than seventy circumnavigations. Erik fascinated us with his many photos and accounts of his travels, which included the most amazing places on earth.

The Annual Christmas Party of the Naples Chapter took place Sunday, December 17th, 2017, at the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club. They enjoyed the very special Christmas Dinner, and the entertainment provided by the Billy Dean and Dawn Ensemble.
November 12, 2017 Luncheon
Ninety members of the Naples Chapter met at the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club for the first luncheon of the season. It was with sadness that we all said “Thank You and Goodbye” to the officers who led the chapter so capably during the past four years, but we welcomed with joy the new board, who will continue leading us into the future. Some new members received their certificates, and several visiting guests applied for membership. After a delicious lunch, we all enjoyed the presentation given by our member Donna Suddeth. Her family came to America from Ukraine. Donna has traveled the country of her ancestors, bringing back many colorful pictures for us to see. We enjoyed listening to her interesting commentary about the history and culture of Ukraine. It was a delightful afternoon, and all were happy to start another exciting season with the Circumnavigators Club in Naples.
